How we can help

Assessment

Start with assessment

Understanding your needs before planning rehabilitation.

Your assessment helps identify which support is relevant and how it fits your goals. Neurological rehabilitation brings together different areas of function and everyday life.

An assessment can provide advice and recommendations in its own right, or form the starting point for ongoing rehabilitation.

What happens?

We explore your history and current difficulties, and discuss how these affect everyday activities. Assessment may include observing tasks and using structured assessment tools selected for your age, needs and circumstances.

What can be assessed?

  • Everyday independence and participation at home, school and in the community.
  • Attention, memory, planning and organisation.
  • Fatigue, routines and the influence of your environment.
  • Arm and hand movement, coordination and use in everyday tasks.
  • Work demands, workplace barriers and possible adjustments.

What comes afterwards?

Following the assessment, you will receive a written Occupational Therapy Immediate Needs Assessment report. This sets out the assessment findings, their impact on everyday activities and identified needs, with clear recommendations for rehabilitation and support. We discuss the report with you and agree the next steps, including goals and a rehabilitation plan where appropriate.

Technology-informed rehabilitation

Clinical expertise guides the technology.

Experience in rehabilitation robotics, digital assessment and therapeutic technology informs our work across all three areas. Where appropriate and available, these tools can support targeted practice, provide feedback and help track change.

The starting point is always the person and their goals. Technology is considered alongside hands-on therapy, everyday activities and practical strategies, with a clear purpose for its use.

Individuals and families

Start with what is difficult. And what you want to do.

You do not need to know which type of rehabilitation you need before getting in touch. Tell us what has changed, what you are finding difficult and what you would like support with.

We will discuss whether the service is a suitable fit and explain the next steps. Assessment and rehabilitation are planned with you, involving family members, carers and other professionals where appropriate and with your agreement.
